Camping in The Ettrick Valley

Over came a Challenge Today

20160816_150238_resizedA friend suggested that I might try busking in the Meadows during the Edinburgh Festival and I stupidly agreed to do it. Got the idea from adventurer Alistair Humphreys who is busking his way over Spain, with a violin he only started learning 6 months ago. I must admit I was really terrified.

After walking round the park for an hour to delay the moment, I finally pitch up on a bench and played a few tunes. Must admit, did feel very liberated by it especially when I realized that people are not really interested, although I did get one thumbs up and a smile from a few kids. It was good fun although I will stick to my day job!

Challenge to Cycle the Outer Hebrides

I have always had a desire to cycle the length of the Outer Hebrides have finally taken the plunge and decided to have a crack at it. Round the world cyclist Mark Beaumont recently accomplished it although he did it is 24 hours. I am not proposing to cycle the 186 miles in 24 hours but will do it at a more leisurely pace. It will take me 6 days over some hills with exposure to  possible high winds and rain.  I believe I can do this and need to raise for the challenge. I have set up a Crowd Funding page so please click the link for more details.  Thanks.
